It’s that time of year again- holiday parties are lighting up your Google calendar like a Griswald Christmas tree. Everyone from co-workers to social drinking friends want to party with you so be sure you dress the part. Here are some of my seasonal favorites for all the holiday cheer!
First off, the annual work party. Now since you will have to see these folks again on Monday, it’s best to keep this look classy. This doesn’t mean just throw on that go-to LBD, but by all means, all your bits and pieces should be covered. For many years now, I have sworn by Maje dresses. The styling and cuts of these dresses are impeccable for their price point. This holiday season I am coveting their mesh and gold leather Rezzano dress. It somehow manages to mash up conservative and edgy into one scrumptious frock.
Whenever I am debuting a new fashion obsession, I test it out first on my friends (hence my knit fringe jacket I wore out with my girlfriends last night, half of which stayed on the chair as I got up). This season I am crazy for the athlesuire trend of leather joggers. I recently styled Arrow and Spartacus star Katrina Law in a killer Viktoria + Woods pair for a holiday editorial. The key here is to make sure the rest of the look is dressed up to avoid looking like you’re heading to the gym. A cool (sequin- why not?!) cropped top and layered necklaces will add insta-glam and offset the casual silhouette of the pant.
If there is ever a time to just be comfy, I say it is when you’re around family. But read I am saying COMFY, not sloppy. My favorite cool without trying line is Free People. The loose fit of the line allows for a big serving of all your mom’s calorie laden comfort food but the cool cuts keep you on this side of chic. Their tunics are heaven with a flat over the knee boot or layered over dark very skinny denim and booties.
Now ringing in the new year is when you can really go to town! There are not too many days in the year when getting sloshed while wearing sparkles is deemed appropriate, so take advantage of this one. I am dying over this Parker fringe mini I also put on Katrina Law. If you are an amazing dancer if your head like I am, the movement of this dress will not disappoint ( I cannot stress enough the “in your head” part of that sentence by the way).
